{"id":2333,"date":"2022-01-19T15:23:47","date_gmt":"2022-01-19T15:23:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/scan.metr.ou.edu\/?p=2333"},"modified":"2022-01-19T15:23:49","modified_gmt":"2022-01-19T15:23:49","slug":"january-officer-meeting-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scan.metr.ou.edu\/index.php\/2022\/01\/19\/january-officer-meeting-3\/","title":{"rendered":"January Officer Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Leia opened the meeting by showing us the calendar for this semester.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Feb. 9th: Officer Meeting<\/li><li>Feb. 18th: Social Event<\/li><li>Feb. 21st: General Meeting<\/li><li>March 9th: Officer Meeting<\/li><li>March 25th: Social Event<\/li><li>March 28th: General Meeting<\/li><li>April 2nd: Big Event<\/li><li>April 13th: Officer Meeting<\/li><li>April 15th: Social Event<\/li><li>April 18th: General Meeting<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Next Leia went over the budget, which was unanimously approved by the attending board members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the February general meeting, we plan to have a Climate Research Scientist from Columbia University or NASA. For food, we will have Chipotle and the attendance prize will be Valentine\u2019s themed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our March general meeting will be with Landon Aydlett who is a Tropical\/Risk and Crisis Communication Expert. We will have Olive Garden for food, and the prize will be a spring break party pack (glow sticks, beach ball, frisbee, snacks, etc).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the April general meeting, we want to have someone from the private sector or NOAA Corps. For food, we will have Pickleman\u2019s. We will have a \u201cbest attendance\u201d prize which will be a weather-themed gift basket, and the regular attendance prize will be a Galileo thermometer or a storm glass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our February social event will be a joint event with another AMS chapter (FSU or Penn State).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our March social event will be a game show night! We will be playing family feud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The April Social event will be another trivia night like last semester. We will do meteorology, pop culture, Disney, OU, etc. We will use either Kahoot or BanjoBug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This semester Asst Dean Owusu has asked us to participate in monthly DEI training along with other student leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We also want to have OU SCAN Alumni social media taker-overs.
