Anyone! It doesn’t matter what your major is or what year you are. If you’re interested in weather, come to a meeting!

1. At the monthly meetings, you’ll hear from someone in the meteorological community and learn about how they got to where they are now and what they do. Afterward, you’ll have the opportunity to go up, introduce yourself, and ask questions.

2. You can help to promote public awareness regarding severe weather by joining the OU SCAN Outreach Committee. These students give presentations at local elementary schools, as well as attend public weather awareness events in the community. Did we mention that they dress as superheroes? Click on the Weather Friends tab to read more!

3. Members are given opportunities to do community service by volunteering at events such as National Weather Festival in the fall or OU’s Big Event in the spring.

4. There are monthly social events held for the sole purpose of getting members together to spend time with one another and just have fun. What better way to get to know your peers?

Joining is simple! All you have to do to become a member is attend a meeting and pay dues.
